Christiana Town Center Progress Photos

This picture was taken on December 30, 2006 at the expansion of Christiana Town Center. It is a Type 3 retail building, and it will be interesting to see as the term progresses how similar the construction of the project is to our class project. This is of the completed foundation of CMU units. You can see the offset foundation, which probably means there will be some sort of finish masonry veneer, possibly brick. The capped rebars that connect the footers to the wall are protruding from the CMU at the regular intervals.

Here is my research for the brick/cmus:

CAP BRICK

- Shows a beautiful use of brick. Has a large selection of various styles and colors of bricks. Many different manufacturers and pictures of their product in use.

IB STOCK

- Has a brick selector screen that lets you select the type, style, color, and actually shows a preview of what the brick will look like. Has a design guide to help select the right brick for the project.

TRENWYTH

- Wide variety of many different styles of CMUs. Large display of the product actually being used. Well organized site with information pertaining to all uses.

BORAL BRICKS

- Different styles of brick for commercial uses.
